Jesus – The Ultimate Father

posted 13 Jun 2012, 02:24 by Arinda Conradie   [ updated 13 Jun 2012, 03:11 ]
  • How many of you grew up with a Father, but he was never there?
  • How many of you grew up with a Father, but he was physical and verbally abuse?
  • How many of you grew up without a Father in the house, only you and mom?

Today I want to introduce to you my ultimate Father – Jesus Christ.  I want to tell you who my Father is, and maybe if you want, you can make Him yours too.

  1. My Father loves me so much, that in Matthew 1:23, He made a Son called “Immanuel” which means “God with us”, so that my Father will never leave me, nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5).  He became flesh and walked the earth for 33 years, so that He will knew and know how I will feel, what I am going through, and how I am thinking and what I am thinking.  And that’s why His mercy become new every day for me (Lamentations 3:22-23).
  2. My Father loves me so much, that when He was tempted for forty days in the wilderness, He will know what I am going through, when I am temped. And that’s why He gave us a resolution for temptation. Read very carefully: 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it”. (NKJV: 1982)

Paul is saying in this verse:

  • Wrong desires and temptations happen to everyone, so don’t feel you’ve been singled out.
  • Others have resisted temptation, so can you.
  • Any temptation can be resisted because God will help you resist it.

God helps you resist temptation by helping you:

  • Recognize those people and situations that give you trouble.
  • Run from anything you know is wrong.
  • Choose to do only what is right. (Deuteronomy 30:15-16 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments, His statues, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.)
  • Pray for God’s help, and
  • Seek friends who love God and can offer help when you are tempted.  Running form a tempting situation is your first step on the way to victory.  (2 Timothy 2:22 “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart”.)
That’s how much my Father loves me. He even gave me a way out from temptation.
    3.  My Father loves me so much that He performed miracles, and still doing it today. My son is a miracle;
we've waited ten years for him. It was impossible for me to bear children, but for God nothing is
impossible.  My husband is miracle. He broke his back and was diagnosed that he can be lame,
but with God nothing is impossible. He is walking today. How many people do you know that had
         miracles in their lives?
Jesus performed approximately 40 miracles during His earthly ministry.
He healed 26 specific persons of leper, blindness, deafness, deaf and dumb, paralysis... some of the
healings are mentioned in three Gospels, so, the Gospels are full of physical healings.
He delivered 7 persons from the demons of spinal bent for 18 year, epilepsy, blindness,
madness ... He resurrected three persons.
    4.  My Father loves me so much that He teaches me through Peter, that even if I go through trials and
tribulations, to stay faithful, because you will come stronger out of it. Remember Hebrews 13:5 at point 1.

    5.  My Father loves me so much that He says in Psalm 91 that even in the midst of danger,
He will protect me, and that He shall give His angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.

    6.  My Father loves me so much that He says in Mark 8:34 “Whoever desires to come after Me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” This means understand and accept that
discipleship means forsaking all selfish personal ambition.

    7.  My Father loves me so much that He says in John 3:16 “that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should no perish but have everlasting life.” Who will do that for you?
was bruised for my iniquities. The chastisement for my peace was upon Him, and by His stripes
I am healed”. (Sela) – Means stop and think about it.

    8.  And lastly, my Father loves me so much that He said when He died and went up to heaven,
He gave us His Holy Spirit to live in us, to feel His presence every day, to teach us His ways,
so that He will be my personal Teacher and Trainer.

I thank Jesus that He gave me an opportunity to make Him my Father. My prayer for you today is that you will make Him your Father too. He is there, He wants to be your Father.

Salvation Prayer.
Jesus I know that I am a sinner.  Forgive me all my sins.  I turn my back on sin to live only for You with my mind, my words and my deeds.  I trust in You, to save me from sin, because You have died for me on the cross and rose again, so that I can live.  Come into my heart as my Lord, my Saviour, and my Friend.  Amen
