FAITH

What is faith?

Heb 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith is to have trust in, or security of someone or something. In this case we talk about faith in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith is essential/real

Matth 17:20 “So Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief; for assuredly,
I say to you if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Faith is the essence that can produce the things that we hope and dream of. The Word of God is the only thing that truly can be essential.

Rom 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"

It is the word of God that the Holy Spirit uses to awaken a response of faith within us, and it is the reliability of the word of God on which we rest our faith for salvation, The words of Scripture are the words of eternal life.

In short, the word of God produce faith in us.

The measure of faith

Rom 12:3 ....God has dealt to each one a measure of faith

It depends on how you care for this seed of faith. Do you give it water or do you let it die?

GROWTH IS DEPENDENT ON CARE, THE SURROUNDINGS, AND CIRCUMSTANCES

God does not want His children to be ignorant/onkundig.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Everything that God promised will be obtained through faith in God.

There are 3 points why we must have faith:
  1. Because we want to please God.
  2. Because God wants to inspire us.
  3. And because of the Armor of God.

1. Because we want to please God (Heb 11:6)

But without faith it is impossible to please Him for he
who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

You must remember, a whole generation of Israelites died in the dessert, because they refused to believe that God was with them and that God had promised the land of Canaan to them.

    Unbelief is rebellious to God.
Unbelief awakens God wrath or anger.
    Unbelief is disobedient to God.
Unbelief close the door of heaven.
Remember it is impossible to please God without faith.

1.1 Faith pleases God:
Joshua and Caleb was the only too out of 3 million people who pleased God so that they could
get what God had promised.  Heb 11 is the gallery of fame.

1.2 Faith overcomes the world:
1John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has
overcome the world – our faith.
  •       Faith overcome worldly attitude
  •       Faith overcome unholiness or ungodliness
1.3 Never brake down faith:
Never say that people can’t do what God told them to do.
You must never doubt God’s Word.

2. Because God wants to inspire us

2.1 The commandments of God:
1 John 3:23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son
Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.  Love and faith is God
      commandment in the New Testament.

2.2 Paul Scriptures:
In Romans, Cor, Gal, Eph, Phil and Col Paul says that we must live through the law of faith,
and not through the works of the law.

3. The Armor of God

3.1 Above all:
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery
darts of the wicked one.  Why above all? This is the most important amor that God gave His children
to use.  Faith are here the SHIELD.

3.2 Waist with truth – the Word: Eph 6:14

3.3 Your feet the gospel of peace – the Word: Eph 6:15

3.4 The sword of the Spirit – Rhema:
Eph 6:17 The word must be mixed with faith. Without faith the word is powerless.

3.5 The breastplate of righteousness:
Eph 6:14 The breastplate is dressed in faith. Rom 3:22
Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe,
      For there is no difference.

3.6 The Helmet of Salvation:
Eph 6:17 Without faith, salvation could not be experienced.

3.7 Praying always:
Eph 6:18 Believe when you pray. Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask
when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Matt 21:21-22
So Jesus answered and said to them,  “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt,
you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain,
‘Be removed and be cast into the sea’ it will be done.
“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

3.8 Firm through faith:

3.9 Stand firm through faith:
Eph 6: 13-14 Without faith we cannot stand firm. Rom 11:20 Well said. Because of unbelief they
were broken off, and you stand by faith.

What can faith do:

Faith move mountains
Faith drive out demons
Faith awakens the dead
Faith protect against evil
Faith obtain a good testimony
Faith move through Godly fear
Faith worship while you die
Faith still storms and calm the sea
Faith heals the sick
Faith brings finances into movement
Faith give food to those who are hungry
Faith is obedient to the Word and voice of God
Faith let the barren bare children
Faith leave the possession of sin

There were 2 things that made Jesus angry:
  1. The unbelief of His disciples.
  2. The hypocrisy of the Pharisees.
There are 7 big faith builders:

1. Know that you are saved
John 8:36 “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

2. Know that you are a new creation
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed
away; behold, all things have become new.

Col 1:21-22 And you, who ones were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight –

3. Know that He is in you and you in Him
  1. Know how valuable and precious you are.
  2. Know what you own.
  3. Know what you can do
  4. Know who you are.
  • We are under His reign
  • We have His life
o We have His mighty power
o We have His nature and character
            o We have His victory
o His wisdom is given to us
            o We have His righteousness

4. Righteousness is to be in right standing with God
Righteousness means to stand in the right relationship with God Righteousness means
to stand in the right relationship with each other.

5. Know the power of the Name of Jesus
In a name there is authority, reputation, success and representation.  Mark 16:17-18n
    “And these signs will follow those who believe;  In My name they will cast out demons;
they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly,
it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.”

Remember representatives and ambassadors honor, respect and subject to the Name.

The effect of the Name will bring deliverance, protection, provision and Godly health.

6. Know obedience to the Word

7. Know what to confess
Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens,
Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
